Intermediate Admission Rules

Admission to the college will be conducted according to the policy set by the Department of Education and within the dates announced by the Board. The notification will be published in newspapers. Admission will be granted strictly on a merit basis. After completing all stages of admission, the list of selected candidates will be displayed on the college notice board.

It is mandatory for the selected students to submit the admission fee by the specified date; otherwise, their admission will be canceled, and the seat will be offered to a candidate on the waiting list. The college has introduced a second shift, and students will be admitted to the second shift only after all seats in the morning session have been filled.

Note: Students with a third division can apply for the second shift.

1. Procedure for Submitting the Admission Form

The prospectus (with the admission form) can be obtained from the college office. Submit the admission form to the office along with the following documents:

  1. Two attested copies of the Matriculation certificate or detailed marks sheet.
  2. Character certificate issued by the head of the previous educational institution. In the case of a private candidate, a character certificate issued by the area councilor, chairman, or any officer above Grade-17 is required.
  3. Attested copy of the national identity card of the father/guardian.
  4. Two attested copies of the student’s ‘B-Form’ or national identity card.
  5. Original NOC and previous board registration number for students who passed their matriculation exam from a board other than Lahore Board.
  6. Two recent, un-attested photographs (size 1×1.5 inches with white background) with the student’s name, admission form number, and obtained marks written on the back. One photograph should be pasted on the form.
  7. Merit-based admissions will be conducted as per the admission policy of the Government of Punjab. Only 2% quota is reserved for physically disabled students, and 2% quota (sports basis) is reserved for Arts students. For disability quota admissions, a disability certificate issued by the Medical Superintendent of the District Headquarters Hospital must be attached.
  8. The spellings of the student’s name on the admission form must match the Matriculation result card.
  9. Students applying under reserved seats (sports or disability) must submit separate forms for their respective quotas, and a separate form for open merit as well.
  10. If selected on merit, bring the original documents (as per the notice board) placed in an envelope. The envelope should clearly mention the merit number and merit marks.

2. College Identity Card

Upon admission, college identity cards will be issued to students. In case of loss of the identity card, a fine of Rs. 100 must be paid for the issuance of a new card. Every student is required to keep her identity card with her during college hours to maintain discipline.

Note: The librarian is fully responsible for all matters related to the library card.

After admission, the selected subjects are reported online to the Lahore Board. Therefore, any change of subject after the due date will only be possible through the Board, and the prescribed fee by the Board must be paid. Hence, select your subjects wisely.

    Students aspiring for Science (Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, ICS, and General Science) must submit separate admission forms for each field.
    Changing from one field to another is not allowed.
  • Eligibility for General Science Group:
    Only candidates who have obtained at least 60% marks overall and at least 60% marks in Mathematics in the Matriculation exam can apply.
  • Eligibility for ICS:

5. Scholarships and Fee Concessions

  • Deserving students of this college are awarded scholarships from the Government, Board, or Fauji Foundation Rawalpindi.
  • The Principal has the authority to waive half of the tuition fee for 10% of deserving students in each session.
  • Applications for fee concession or assistance from the Red Crescent must be submitted at the start of the academic year.
  • Concession is granted only on tuition fees (Rs. 300 or Rs. 600); all other dues must be paid by the student.

Note: Orphan students must attach a photocopy of their father’s death certificate with the application.

6. Absenteeism and Fines

    • A fine of Rs. 5 will be charged for missing a single period, and Rs. 10 for being absent for a full day.
    • A fine of Rs. 150 per day will be imposed for not wearing the uniform, and Rs. 100 per day for incomplete uniform.
    • For disciplinary violations, the fine will be a minimum of Rs. 200 and up to Rs. 1,000.
    • Unauthorized absence from college examinations will result in a fine of Rs. 200 per paper, or the student may be expelled from the college. Failure to take examinations will result in withholding of board and university admission.

7. Attendance and Leave Policy

    • To appear in the Board examinations, students must maintain at least 75% attendance; otherwise, their admission form will not be sent to the Board.
    • For appearing in the December tests of 1st and 2nd year (Arts/Science), teachers’ reports are mandatory. If attendance is below 70%, teachers may withhold the student’s admission.
    • Leave applications must bear the signature of the parent or guardian.
    • For leave up to 2 days, the application must be approved by the English teacher.
    • For leave exceeding 2 days, approval from the Principal is required.
    • In case of illness, the application must be signed by the parent or guardian (for day scholars).
    • For leave ranging from 4 to 15 days, a certificate from a government medical officer will be accepted.
    • Continuous absence of 15 days without a leave application will result in the student’s name being removed from the college register. Re-admission will be granted only once per academic session, upon a written request from parents.
    • If parents wish to withdraw their child’s admission, they must notify the college in writing.
    • During promotion exams (home examinations), only a certificate issued by the Medical Superintendent of a government hospital will be accepted. Such students will have to take a re-test, otherwise their admission will not be forwarded to the Board.

University Policy / Rules For Absentee / Re-Admission / Re-Sit

  1. 70% attendance in each course is mandatory.
  2. Month wise absentee list should be prepared and pasted on the college notice board.
  3. Fine of Rs.100/- per period will be charged if attendance falls less than 30%
  4. With the attendance less than 10% names will be struck off.
  5. Before mid-term exam re-admission is requisite for the struck off or total absent students otherwise not allowed to appear in mid-term exam.
  6. Re-admission fee will be of Rs.2000/- and students can avail themselves of this chance for only once.
  7. Admission will be cancelled or the students may be detained in case she skips classes or remains absent throughout the term.

1. Re-sit permissible under following conditions.

  1. Those whose attendance is up to 70% but failed in mid-term and want to improve GPA.
  2. These whose attendance is up to 70% but owing to some mishap could not appear in mid-term provided that they have submitted application timely to the HOD defining solid grounds for absence.
  3. Those who could not meet the conditions of attendance re-admission, midterm etc. but only with special permission from the principal and HOD.

2. General Rules and Regulations


➢ Students will strictly abide by college rules, timings and dress code (white shalwar, Qamiz, Dupatta, (black cardigan in winter).

  1. Admission to various disciplines in Govt. Graduate College for Women Sheikhupura is granted strictly on merit and in accordance with the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Punjab University. Applications for admission will be accepted according to the schedule notified, and no application form will be accepted after the last date except with the special permission of the principal. After completion of all the necessary stages of admission, list of successful candidates will be displayed on the college notice board &Ocas website also.
  2. Students, who fail to pay all the dues by the due date, their right of admission will be forfeited.
  3. After admission of a candidate, if it comes to the knowledge of the University Authorities at any stage, that the documents submitted by the candidate for admission carry a misstatement, or fake, or there is an error in these documents, that may affect his/her merit, his/her admission will be cancelled. Fees once submitted, will not be refunded.
  4. Applications of the students who are found to have an unbecoming character and conduct will be rejected. No appeal can be filed against the rejection. Fee once Submitted, will not be Refunded.
  5. The candidates holding F.A/FSc. or equivalent qualification with at least 2nd division and not more than 24 years of age shall be eligible for admission to BSCS/BS or equivalent programs in University of the Punjab/Affiliated Colleges. The candidate holding 3rd division in terminal degree is not eligible for admission in BA/B.Sc. or equivalent program in University of the Punjab/Affiliated Colleges.
  6. Two marks shall be deducted from (Percent academic) marks for each late session to a maximum of previous 5 sessions/ years. Such applicants have to furnish an affidavit to the effect that he/she does not get admission in any institution in the period intervening between the year of passing the Examination and year of application for admission. (vid notification No.S.O (C.A) 1-28/2015 dated 20th july,2016).
