College Uniform

A prescribed uniform is mandatory for all students. They must wear a white shalwar kameez with a colored cotton dupatta corresponding to their academic year. Shoes must be closed black shoes. Any violation of the uniform code will result in a fine. During winter, a black sweater and black shawl are compulsory, with no embroidery or other colors allowed. Black jackets and black half coats are permitted. Any makeup or jewelry will be confiscated if worn or carried.

Co-Curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities are essential for the balanced development of students. The college provides facilities for such activities.
These activities help shape students' personalities and create proper social awareness, which is an important goal of education.
To offer variety, the college has various societies so that students can participate according to their interests, talents, and preferences, thereby nurturing their abilities. Their details are as follows:

Sports and Physical Training

Proper arrangements are available for badminton, volleyball, hockey, and tennis.
The college teams participate in competitions and tournaments organized by the Lahore Board, Punjab University, and other cities.

Library Rules

Students may borrow only two books at a time for 14 days.
A fine of Rs. 5 per day per book will be charged for late returns.
A library card will be issued upon admission, and it must carry the student’s photograph.
The following materials are for in-library reading only:
(a) Reference books
(b) Latest issues of magazines
In case of loss or damage of a book, the student must pay double the price, along with service and binding charges.
To claim the security deposit, the following original documents are required:
(a) Library card
(b) College identity card
(c) Fee receipt submitted to the college.
Without the above documents, security will not be refunded.

Message from The Librarian

The library plays a vital role in supporting the academic mission of Government Graduate College for Women Sheikhupura. A library is a treasure house of knowledge. Our library consists of more than 13 thousand books covering all the subjects taught in the college. A separate section for BS has been established in the library to serve the BS students according to their courses. The library also has different types of reference sources like encyclopedias and dictionaries. We provide our students with the resources and study environment they need to support them during the course of their studies. We offer easy access to reading Hall and collections, library books can be easily found because all the books are arranged and classified subject wise. Our library remains open during the college timings. Library staff is available to assist the students in finding the books according to their need. Come to the library and get your library card to use the library materials and enjoy the facilities provided by the library. I welcome you all to step into the library and explore the awesome resources and have a feel of the paradise of knowledge. We value you because the library is for you.

General Discipline

Students are expected to maintain complete discipline within the college premises. Any breach will result in disciplinary action.

Students are not allowed to enter the office or staff room without permission.

Visitors are not allowed to meet students during college hours.

Students cannot leave the college during class hours without the Principal's or Duty Officer's permission. In emergencies, only parents/guardians or real brothers can take the student home, and they must present their ID card.

Students are not allowed to take furniture outside its designated rooms.

Students must regularly check the notice board.

Students must wear the prescribed college uniform. Wearing real or imitation jewelry is prohibited; violators may be expelled. Makeup is not allowed, and jewelry will be confiscated.

Damaging flowers, writing on walls, or harming teachers' vehicles will result in strict punishment and heavy fines.

Applying henna (mehndi), threading, or waxing inside college is strictly prohibited. Violation may lead to fines or expulsion.

Students are not allowed to post any notices on the college notice board themselves.

All staff members have the authority to reprimand students for rule violations, and their reports can lead to disciplinary action. The Principal has full authority to fine or punish students for any violation of college rules or expel them.

Private parties or gatherings inside college are not allowed.

Mobile phones, cameras, or tape recorders are strictly prohibited. Any such item will be confiscated and not returned.

Students cannot bring anyone else along with them during class hours.

Parents must pick up students within half an hour after college ends, otherwise the college will not be responsible.

Science students must wear a white lab coat during practicals.

Students are not allowed to gather in groups, gossip, or loiter around, especially in teaching blocks, as it disturbs the academic environment.

Students should not pass through corridors during class hours, and it is forbidden to cross in front of the Principal's office or staff room or sit on the roads.

The college gate closes at 8:00 AM in summer and 8:30 AM in winter and will reopen only after the last period.

Note: All fines must be paid to the accounts clerk during working hours, and a receipt must be obtained. The college is not responsible for academy timings, and no gate pass will be issued in this regard.
